Bangor once had a beautiful wooden covered bridge that, unfortunately, was destroyed by vandals. Do you remember where it was?

My grandmother on my father's side always loved covered bridges. I remember drives on summer afternoons to find them, and postcards that she collected with pictures of the wooden spans. So we often drove by Bangor's Morse Covered Bridge so she could see it and take pictures.

I was reminded of this when I was on YouTube this morning and found a video of the World's Longest Covered Bridge. Located just over the Houlton Border Crossing in Hartland, New Brunswick, the bridge that was built in 1901 is 1,282 feet long. I wonder if Grammy Campbell ever crossed it? I'm sure she would have loved it!

But back to the Morse Covered Bridge in Bangor. I haven't been able to find information on when it was built, but I can tell you that it was destroyed by fire in 1983. Can you tell us where it was located? (You can scroll down for the answer.)
