Sooooooo....this week Sarah and myself embarked upon a special outside assignment to head into the kitchen, and make up some deeeeelicious traditional Maine Whoopie Pies. Some may argue with us because there's no marshmallow in the frosting, but I have my personal feelings about the appropriate time and place for marshmallow. I went with a more buttercream type frosting.

When all was said and done, and we ate more whoopie pies than we shared, we brought the rest into the office to see how they stood up. They must've been good, because nobody wanted to be filmed eating them. Which I totally understand because they were using both hands and eating like a teenage running back after a championship game. Not a lot of chewing going.

In fact, all Sarah could talk about through the entire editing process was how angry she was that we didn't have more of them for her to east right now. I kinda found myself feeling the same way. It was this mix of intense desire, and a certain amount of shame for how badly we wanted more tasty cakes. But at least she gets to have more tomorrow at the Whoopie Pie Festival in Dover-Foxcroft.

If you're at the festival this weekend, please eat an extra of every kind of whoopie pie for me, since I'll be back here at Pints and Pups, handing out beer tickets and wishing I was eating sweet, delicious whoppies......
