First and foremost....I have no beef at all with the folks who work on the front lines of road work. those folks are out there in all kinds of heat, cold, rain, whatever...trying to make our lives run smoother. They deserve a ton of credit, and don't often get any.

Now...that said, what in the good lord's name is going on around Bangor today. In good traffic, my commute to work is just shy of fifteen minutes. Today, it took almost 30 minutes to get to work. From Bangor to Brewer. Why, you ask? Because literally every time I took a turn there was some kind of road construction going on.

I get it, there's a mad dash going on to get some projects wrapped up before winter, but holy guacamole...it's happening all at once. I ran into work in two spots on Essex street, Broadway, Kenduskeag Ave, intersection of Ohio and Griffin, and two spots on Hammond Street. Again, those folks that are doing the work, are just doing their job, and I have no trouble with that.

To be honest, it's one of those things where I don't understand if there is even anyone I can blame. I know we're all tempted to yell at the flaggers, or the road guys, but again, they're just doing as they're told. But it just seems like chaos on the road right now. There's got to be a better way!!!

Or, we can all just chill out and get over ourselves. Because after all, it's just traffic. And we'll eventually get where we're headed. But man.....good luck doing that today.
