According the Thrillist.com you have to just about leave the state to enjoy an overnight away from home. Apparently the romance of this place is overwhelmingly stronger than the rest of the state. 

Every now and then it is time to go a little beyond pizza and a movie for date night. For those more special occasions where should you go for a romantic night away in Maine? Thrillist.com has named 'The Most Romantic Weekend Getaways' for every state.

According to their results they have named Kennebunkport as the most romantic place in Maine. Because of the array of options for romantic, fine dining, beaches for sunset viewing, a lighthouse, and the scenic lobster cruise.

Do you agree with their decision? I would have suggested places like Baxter Park, or Belfast as the most romantic. Maine has quite a few options! What are some other ideas for weekend getaway date spots?
