Westbrook Outdoor Concert Venue Moves Forward

The Bangor Waterfront will have some competition.

A major concert promoter wants to fill a 3,500 seat seasonal pavilion in southern Maine. Westbrook is moving forward to team up with a 'big concert promoter.' Per the company’s request to remain anonymous, Westbrook officials wont say who the promoter is. However, given the details that were released the Portland Press Herald speculates the 'big concert promoter' is Live Nation.

If so, it really is as big as it gets. Live Nation operates over 140 venues in eight countries.

Assistant City Administrator William Baker told the PPH shows wouldn't start at Riverbank Park until spring of 2015 at the earliest.

Shortly after Westbrook announced plans for an outdoor venue, Portland formally introduced plans for one of its own. Those plans have since fallen through.
