Weekend Earthquake in Maine
You probably didn’t feel it, but it happened.
The U.S. Geological Service reported a minor 1.9 magnitude earthquake in Maine. Who ever was up at 7:28 in the morning on a Saturday (not me) might have felt the quake. It was centered four miles southwest of North Windham.
Some people felt the quake in Gorham and Standish. No damage was reported.
The strongest earthquake reported in Maine was in March of 1904. The magnitude 5.1 quake was felt all through New England and was strong enough to topple chimneys in Washington County.
