Well how about this, imagine a town where there is no WIFI, TV, radio or cell phones. No it's not fiction, It’s reality in Green Bank, West Virginia. Green Bank lies in the National Radio Quiet Zone and electronic transmitters are strictly regulated.

Some kind of social statement?  No, it is home to the Green Bank Telescope, the world's largest fully steerable radio telescope, which is operated by the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO). Everything is banned so satellites can gather information from space and some have been flocking to the small town to escape what they believe to be the dangerous electronic wavelengths.

**FYI: Green Bank population is 149 (and they have no way of knowing that we are talking about them.)
