A 75-year-old man who was critically injured when his scooter was struck by a car on Broadway in Bangor has died of his injuries.

The accident happened Wednesday morning at the intersection of Broadway and Grandview Avenue. That's where a car driven by 82-year-old Barbara Brown of Kenduskeag struck a scooter, driven by Paul Knowlton of Bangor. Brown was not injured in the crash but the scooter driver was seriously hurt and taken to the hospital.

WABI-TV reports that Knowlton died of his injuries late Sunday afternoon. He had worked for many years as a paramedic in the Bangor area.
