Main Street in Bangor is back open after a utility pole fire and downed lines closed a portion of it this morning.

Bangor Police Lieutenant Catherine Rumsey said Main Street, at the Bangor/Hampden town line, was closed to traffic this morning due to electrical lines that were lying in the roadway and the pole fire. Traffic was being diverted away from the scene while the necessary repairs were made.

The incident caused outages for many customers in the Bangor/Hampden area and caused some street lights to go out. Main Street was reopened at around 8:30 this morning.
