The State police today revealed the identity of the Virginia man they believe died in the Maine Woods. Skeletal remains were found off the Puddledock Road in Manchester by hunters over the weekend. A Virginia driver's license was found with the remains.

Police have notified the family of Paul Tolbert, 33, of Radford, Virginia with their suspicions. Family members confirmed that Tolbert was attending a drug rehabilitation program in Winthrop. He hadn't spoken with his family since January of this year.

The family had not reported him missing. Police say foul play is not suspected in the death. Tolbert's family is sending DNA samples to the Maine State Medical Examiner's office to make a positive identification.
