Under 21? You Can No Longer Buy Cigarettes In Portland [POLL]

If you're an 18-to-20-year-old smoker, and you're planning to stay in Portland, you'd better pack extra cigarettes because the minimum age to buy tobacco products in the city just went up.

Portland's City Council voted a month ago to raise the minimum age to purchase tobacco products to 21, and the initiative goes into effect today. And that's not just cigarettes, it's all forms of tobacco. Electronic cigarettes are included in the change.

Merchants in the city are being reminded of the regulation shift today. They're also required, by law, to post signs notifying customers of the new regulations.
