A two vehicle crash is caused traffic problems and motorists are being advised to avoid the area. Early reports suggest a pickup truck crossed the center line and hit an oncoming vehicle. The accident has been cleared and the road is back open.

The accident happened this morning on Route 1A, otherwise known as the Bar Harbor Road, in the area of the Holden Town Office and Fire Station. A dispatcher told us that the pickup hit a station wagon and that three people have been taken to the hospital. There's no word on their conditions.

The Maine Department of Transportation advises us the accident site is cleared and traffic is flowing once again.
