Maine State Police say two Massachusetts men have been charged in connection with last week’s homicide in Sherman.

Marcus Asante, 20, of Fitchburg, and Darin Goulding, 27, whose home address was not immediately known, are being held on fugitive from justice charges in Massachusetts, Maine State Police said in a news release on Tuesday.

Once the men are returned to Maine, they will be charged with murder in connection with the death of Douglas Morin, 31, whose body was found inside his car along a remote road in Sherman on Oct. 16, the release said.

The murder charges were authorized by the Maine Attorney General’s Office.

Asante was taken into custody on an unrelated charge in Fitchburg last Friday.

Goulding was arrested in Leominster, MA on Tuesday.

A number of Massachusetts law enforcement agencies have assisted Maine State Police in the investigation.

Maine State Police say the killing remains under investigation, and no additional details will be released at this time.
