Two people were critically injured when a pickup traveling the wrong way on I-95 collided head-on with another vehicle.

Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says State Police learned of a white truck traveling southbound in the northbound lane of I-95 just before 7:00 Sunday night. Pittsfield Police and Somerset County Sheriff's Deputies joined State Troopers in trying to locate the truck and get it turned around. But before they could catch up to it, the truck collided head-on with another vehicle.

70-year-old Hugh Brawn of Clinton was driving the pickup truck. He was taken by Delta Ambulance to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the second vehicle, 19-year-old Tristan Kaldenberg of Littleton, Massachusetts was taken by LifeFlight to EMMC, also with life-threatening injuries.
