Roads may become suddenly hazardous with snow squalls in the forecast.

The National Weather Service in Caribou is warning that afternoon travel could suddenly become hazardous. Scattered snow squalls are in the forecast and may create brief heavy snow or whiteout conditions today, Jan. 16.

Most of the snow is expected in the afternoon into early evening. Drivers are advised to take it slow and leave plenty of space between them and the vehicle in front of them.
