A tractor trailer hauling paper rolled over this morning in Coburn Gore, causing traffic tie-ups at the Canadian border.

Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says the accident happened Thursday morning on Route 27, just south of the border crossing into Quebec. The rig collided with a bridge, strewing packages of paper over the road and into the water below.

State Police, Maine Department of Transportation Bridge Inspectors and the Department of Environmental Protection have spent the morning clearing the scene. Commercial traffic was stopped and held at the port of entry for about an hour until the road was cleared.

The driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment of some injuries. There's no word on how badly he was hurt.
