Maine State Police are investigating the death of a toddler in the Penobscot County town of Stetson.

The death was reported at about 3 a.m. Monday at a home on Mt. Pleasant Road after the body of 2½-year-old Loh Grenda was found in her mother’s car.

The mother has been identified as 24-year-old Leanna Norris, who now lives in Auburn, but formerly lived in Stetson. Norris has now been hospitalized at an undisclosed facility, according to police.

An autopsy on the little girl’s body was conducted by the State Medical Examiner’s Office Monday and the results are pending additional testing

Detectives have been conducting interviews with family, friends and relatives as they investigate the circumstances of the death.
