Remember that time 17 year old LL Cool J taught the kids of Maine about Hip-Hop? A scratching tutorial, beat boxing, and kids attempting to break dance, need I say more?!

June 21, 1985 a young LL Cool J and DJ Cut Creator performed live at Colby College in Waterville 5 months before his first album 'Radio' was released. LL was paid $500 for the show which was a 'Suicide Prevention Concert'.

Check out the outfits and the audio equipment and I love how LL ends with the message of "Don't do drugs, stay away from thugs and stay in school." and drops the mic.

After LL's performance 'The Way We Were' by Gladys Knight& The Pips was covered by Cornell Clark, a choreographer, nutritionist, singer, and martial artist who at the time was managing rap greats like Kurtis Blow and the Fearless Four. I couldn't help but laugh when everyone seems to literally run out of the gym during his song.

Don't miss the break dancing at the very end! Those are some pretty sweet moves!
