A Connecticut man and a couple from Hancock County face drug charges after their vehicle was stopped by Maine Marine Patrol.

Ronald Golden, 31, of Meriden, Conn., and Austin Kleffman, 28, of Trenton have been charged with felony aggravated trafficking in heroin. Additionally, Ajha Stanley, 20, of Tremont was charged with unlawful possession of heroin and violation of bail conditions.

Drug agents from MDEA’s Downeast Task Force in Ellsworth and Hancock Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene to assist Marine Patrol Officers.

Police seized about 200 bags of heroin on one of the passengers in Golden’s vehicle, according to a Tuesday news release from the Maine Department of Public Safety.

Agents were able to determine that this heroin was part of a larger amount, estimated to be approximately 750 bags, brought into Maine by Golden for resale in Hancock and Penobscot counties. Also seized was approximately $1,100.

The street value of the heroin was $8,000.

Three were taken to Hancock County Jail.

A fourth person in the car was not charged.
