This Wasn’t Daft Punk Accepting A Grammy?

UPDATE: Although our initial report (and many others) identified the two men pictured in the audience as Daft Punk members Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter, subsequent reports have identified them as Cedric Hervet, the band's creative director, and Paul Hahn, the band's manager.

Did Daft Punk just mess with the world?

It's been a while since we caught a glimpse of Daft Punk members Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter. Maybe that's why it didn't take long for stories to spread that the French EDM duo pulled a fast one Sunday night by sitting (unmasked) in the audience and sending robot-clad substitutes to accept their Grammy for Record of the Year.

The photo above (taken from the video below) started the rumor mill churning, but as is the case with all things nowadays, the Internet helped clear up any misinformation. Thank you, Internet!
