After this past Sunday's 'The Walking Dead' season 3 finale "Welcome to the Tombs," news of casting and series regular upgrades have been coming out of the woodwork. Yesterday brought the revelation that newcomers Chad Coleman (Tyreese) and Sonequa Martin-Green (Sasha) had been promoted, along with longtime star Emily Kinney (Beth), while many wondered why other highlighted stars like Scott Wilson (Hershel) and Melissa McBride (Carol) had yet to receive the same treatment. Well, good news! They already were!

Mixed, if fortunate news from 'The Walking Dead' season 4 camp today, as we learn that two more stars of the series have been upgraded to series regular. Or at the very least, they already were! Following yesterday's promotions of Chad Coleman, Sonequa Martin-Green and Emily Kinney, a number of fans took to protesting that longtime series star Melissa McBride had yet to receive the same consideration, despite her character Carol's considerable focus.

Via TVLine, we've learned that McBride herself took to Twitter to clear up the confusion, confirming her preexisting status as a series regular. AMC producers evidently retain the rights to decide which of their series regulars receive top billing in the opening credits, and which appear in the secondary credits, a relegation fellow series regular Scott Wilson (Hershel) also shares.

Series creator Robert Kirkman wasn't able to offer any clarification to TVLine on the legal matter, but as fans well know, series regular status is no guarantee of safety on 'The Walking Dead.'

We'll keep you posted on the latest from 'The Walking Dead' season 4, but what say you? Which series regulars will bite the big one next year? Check out the latest promo and take your pick!
