My dream has come true!

The University of California, Irvine is offering an online class biased on The Walking Dead! 'Society, Science, Survival: Lessons from AMC’s 'The Walking Dead' is a free online course that starts October 14, the day after the season four premier. The class is eight weeks long and features four UC Irvine professors.

In all seriousness, The Walking Dead dose highlight interesting and very possible post-apocalyptic social scenario. The zombie apocalypse was the topic of a eight page paper I wrote for a sociology class I took in college. I got an A baby!

Other colleges have created zombie themed classes. Both Southeast Community College in Nebraska and Michigan State University have such classes. However, UC Irvine will be the first school to have a direct tie-in with the AMC show. The professors will have Walking Dead cast members available for exclusive interviews throughout the class.
