I have spent many a summer and fall afternoon playing cornhole. It takes little to no athletic ability, which is perfect for a schlub like me. Now, it might be time to take my talents to Sunday river to go for the championship.

32 teams will take to the courts of Sunday River's slopes on October 11, 2015, to determine the victor of the New England Cornhole Championship, an American Cornhole Association sanctioned event. With heats starting at 10:00AM, the single-elimination tournament, based upon cancellation scoring, will offer up a $500 purse; 1st place - $250, 2nd place - $150, 3rd place - $100. This fully sanctioned event will follow ACA rules and regulations. Entry fee is $25 per team, with proceeds going to the Sunday River Community Fund.

In addition to the tournament, there are several fun activities happening on the 11th. There will be a free outdoor concert, an arts and crafts fair, kids games and pony rides, scenic lift rides, ziplines, bungee tampolines and of course, excellent food and drink for all.

And for those of you who have never played, watch this video for a few tips!
