The Best-Selling Vinyl LPs of 2015 So Far
Vinyl is cool still!
It's a good year for music. So far in 2015 overall music consumption has increased by 14%. The big force behind the up-tick is of course streaming. On-demand streaming increased year-over-year by 92.4%. More than 135 billion songs have been streamed, thus far.Vinyl still seems to be making a comeback. This year, vinyl LP's comprise nearly 9% of physical album sales. LP sales up 38% year-to-date.
Last week Nielsen Music released the best-selling LP's of 2015, so far. Here's the run-down:
- '1989' - Taylor Swift (34,000)
- 'Carrie & Lowell' - Sufjan Stevens (32,000)
- 'AM' - Arctic Monkeys (27,000)
- 'Sound & Color' - Alabama Shakes (26,000)
- 'Kind of Blue' - Miles Davis (23,000)
- 'In the Lonely Hour' - Sam Smith (23,000)
- 'Dark Side of the Moon' - Pink Floyd (23,000)
- 'Guardians Of The Galaxy' - Soundtrack (23,000)
- 'I Love You Honeybear' - Father John Misty (22,000)
- 'Hozier' - Hozier (21,000)
