It was only a matter of time before someone had to take away the most fun part of the internet: memes and GIFs.  Come on!  This is how we have fun!

These things build the internet culture and doing away with these, to stop the infringement of copyrighted images, just makes the internet another corporate, capitalistic endeavor without any soul.

Mashable reported that the European Parliament has voted to pass new copyright laws that could eliminate the use of memes and gifs.  The bill is still in draft form but is set to be voted on soon enough.

So, before we lose all of our fun to mass censorship, let's enjoy some good old-fashioned Maine GIFs while we still can.  <sigh>
