The 1st Annual Penobscot County Big Tree Contest Starts Soon

The Penobscot County Soil and Water Conservation District and the Maine Forest Service are sponsoring the 1st Annual Penobscot County Big Tree Contest.

This can be a fun competition between family and friends as everyone tries to outdo each other by finding the biggest and tallest tree that they can!

Owners of "Champion Trees" will receive a certificate, a "Trees Of Maine" book, and will be recognized at a future PCSWCD banquet!  Pretty cool!  Nominators of winning trees will receive a "Penobscot County Biggest Trees" t-shirt.

The contest runs between May 15th and September 15th. Trees must be native to the state of Maine.  More of your tree questions can be answered HERE!
