YouTube is such a treasure trove of awesomeness when it comes to digging up memories from the past, all you have to do is a quick search and you can be amazed at what you will find.

From time to time, WABI will show a program called "Time Capsule" where they dig through their archives and show sports clips, news and television commercials. With that in mind, I found some classic local commercials and TV news promotional ads.

Without a doubt, this 1989 local Bangor television commercial for a business called "Hair Upstairs" had me laughing at how seriously everyone takes themselves with their perfectly coiffed hairstyles. This salon was making Bangor's beautiful people look their best back in the late 80's and early 90's

The iconic Bangor Savings Bank ad with kittens frolicking around the Christmas tree was a holiday staple for years. Get ready to say "Awwwww" when the kitty meows at the end

For years the legendary Eddie Driscoll was a beloved television personality on Channel 2. Not only did he host a program called "The Great Money Movie" every weekday, but he was also a local pitchman for various businesses.

There were so many car commercials over the years (and still are) Check out this 1992 Bangor Hyundai ad

Sandi's in Downtown Bangor was the place to hang back in the day. It featured unique gifts, rock & roll items, and musical instruments!

Dick Stacey's Plaza Motel is known to everyone in Brewer, not only for his motel, but his weekly Dick Stacey's Country Jamboree, which used to air on Channel 7

And we also found several promotional ads for WLBZ, WVII, and WABI
