A man is being held by police in connection with a robbery at a Big Apple store. A description of a vehicle connected to the robbery led police to the suspect.

Augusta Police Deputy Chief Jared Mills said in a press release that a male suspect entered the Big Apple on Stone Street in Augusta on Sunday just after 10pm and threatened the clerk with a weapon, demanding money. The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Investigators, along with a canine unit attempted to track the suspect. Witness statements led police to a vehicle they say is connected to the incident. Jeremy McCaslin, 38 of Belgrade, was operating the vehicle and was taken into custody on a probation violation.

McCaslin was taken to Kennebec County Jail. He's since been additionally charged with Robbery and Violation of Conditions of release.
