Yesterday I attended my 4th Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure event in Bangor. This time I had the opportunity to broadcast live from the event thanks to our local sponsor, Walgreens.

The best part of the entire event is the Survivor Ceremony. It's also the most emotional. It's just amazing to see that amazing group of strong women and men up there. That group is proof that together we can kick cancer's butt!

It also hits very close to home for me since I lost my Grandmother to breast cancer as well as a co-worker and dear friend. I'm also very, very blessed that my best friend Tina is able to stand up there as a Survivor. I'm so beyond proud of her fight! She's the strongest woman I know!

I look forward to this walk every year. Our team, 'Team Tina for Ta-Ta's' always has a blast walking together. I don't even personally know everyone on our team. The one thing we have in common? We all love Tina! That's what it's all about!

The beautiful part of this amazing event is that everyone involved is doing it for someone they love. It's a group of thousands of strangers that come together to raise money to beat breast cancer. Below is a photo I took of my co-worker walking. 'MEW' is one of the women I walk for. We all miss her spirit around the office! There was nobody like our dear friend and co-worker, MaryEllen! <3
