[UPDATE} This street dance has been canceled due to a licensing issue. Organizers hope to plan another event at a later date in a different location. We'll let you know when they do!

While many have mourned the loss of their favorite neighborhood bar when Cap's Tavern was destroyed by fire last week, it was even more devastating to the employees who have lost their jobs. So a street dance this Sunday will raise money to help them get by.

It promises to be an amazing day of music, with 22 acts signed up to perform between noon and 11 p.m. And it will be a bittersweet day for everyone who loved the Tavern as it will be held in the parking lot, with the burned-out building as a backdrop. But the camaraderie, friendships, and love for the staff of Cap's will rise above the ashes and make this a joyous day of music, food, raffles, and fun!

For more information, and the music line-up, log onto the event page on Facebook. Participating musicians include Crossroads, The Ian Black Band, the Harry Rossignol Band, The Barndogs, Shannon Denbow, Skid Bone, Saw Lady Janice Moore, Brother Luv and the Madd Hatter, Beatle-man Mike Olsen, Phyllis Ingstrom, Zena Robbins, Salty Dog, The Moondogs, Driven, The Ryan Carter Band, Pat Sullivan, Meghan Clark, Black Ice, The Rick Carter Band, Deep Six, The Dogs, and Blood Soaked Memories.

Kudos to all the local musicians who are donating their time to this event, and our best wishes go to the owners and employees of Cap's Tavern who were hit the hardest by the fire.
