A remake of the 1984 flick is in the works.

'Firestarter' is hitting the big screen again. The film based on the Stephen King novel will get the remake treatment according to Deadline.

News of the remake project was announced at a very appropriate venue, the Overlook Film Festival at Timberline Lodge in Mt. Hood, Oregon. The exterior of Timberline Lodge was shot to be used as the Overlook Hotel in film adaptation of The Shining.

'Firestarter' is about a girl who develops the ability to start fires with her mind. She's abducted by a top secret government agency in an attempt to hardness her power to be used as a weapon.

Drew Barrymore starred in the original film. There's no word on casting thus far.
