In a new essay, author and gun owner Stephen King shares his opinion on gun control.

In a new essay called 'Guns' distributed by Amazon.com, King reacts to the Sandy Hook shooting and other gun related massacres. He also shares his opinions of 'reasonable measures' that should be taken.

He calls for tougher penalties for those who lie about their past to obtain weapons. King also states that their should be a waiting period for those who wish to purchase a gun. In addition, King calls for a ban on semi-automatic weapons and magazines that can hold more than 10 rounds.

In a statement on Amazing.com King says:

“I think the issue of an America awash in guns is one every citizen has to think about. If this helps provoke constructive debate, I’ve done my job. Once I finished writing ‘Guns’ I wanted it published quickly.”

'Guns' is available to Kindle users for 99 cents in the Kindle Singles Store.
