Police have released new details about a stabbing last week on Market Street. They now say the man who was stabbed was one of several who attempted to rob a local resident.

Bangor Police Sergeant Tim Cotton said in a press release that officers responded to a reported stabbing last Friday at 89 Market Street in Bangor. Initially, police were told that two suspects had entered the victim's residence armed with clubs with the intent to rob him. The robbery victim chased the two suspects off. And at some point during the incident, one of the robbery suspects was stabbed.

On Tuesday, detectives arrested Nathan Daigle, age 27, at his home on the McCarty Road in Glenburn. Daigle is charged with both burglary and robbery in connection with the incident. There's no word on the other suspect in the case.

Cotton says the investigation is continuing and no further information is available.
