Stabbing Leads To Multiple Drug Arrests

Police investigating a stabbing in the town of Chelsea discovered heroin and drug paraphernalia, and arrested several, including two New Yorkers.

Maine State Police Sergeant Jason Madore said in a press release that police responded to the report of a stabbing on Eastern Avenue in Chelsea just before 4:00 Friday afternoon. The victim, 27-year-old Jasmine Swift of Chelsea, was taken to Maine General Medical Center in Augusta, where she was treated and released.

Troopers located the stabbing suspects on the Barber Road in Randolph. 20-year-old Tatyana Tomlinson of New York state was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault and Being a Fugitive from Justice based on an extraditable arrest warrant from New York. Also arrested at the scene was Lindsay Traynum, age 31 of Sidney, who was charged with Misuse of a Public Instrument and Violating Conditions of Release.

During the investigation, Troopers found heroin and drug paraphernalia in the car that was driven by the victim and parked in the driveway at the Chelsea house. The car was registered to 24-year-old Courtney Peaslee of Farmingdale, who is Swift's roommate. That discovery led investigators to also search the residence, where they found more heroin and paraphernalia. After Jasmine was released from the hospital, she was charged with Unlawful Possession of Heroin.

Police then conducted a 'high-risk' search warrant at Swift and Peaslee's home on Hill Street in Farmingdale, which yielded just over 12 grams of heroin, marijuana, cash from suspected drug proceeds, and numerous amounts of drug paraphernalia that was indicative of drug trafficking. Arrested and charged with Aggravated Trafficking in Heroin were Peaslee, 19-year-old Megan Woodcock of Randolph, and 30-year-old Wendell Bazemore of New York state.
