Today (Monday, March 20) is the first day of spring, and when the first day of spring rolls around each year, we Mainers never know what to expect.

Some years, there's hint of green poking through the bare ground, and the birds are happily singing away. Some years (we're talking to you 2017), the birds are singing to stay warm, and the only flowers are those painted on the side of a giant snowbank.

We saw this display on along Stillwater Avenue in Bangor and thought we'd share it with you. To whomever did it, great job! (If you want to see it for yourself, it's right in front of Hobby Lobby and Buffalo Wild Wings.)

The weather looks pretty good for the next few days, so maybe we'll lose some of the snow. When do you think this giant snowbank will be gone?
