A man who requested $140 in cash from a South Portland ATM machine got more than he bargained for when the broken machine spit out $37,000 in dough!

South Portland police got a call from a woman who noticed that the man was spending a significant amount of time at the machine and as it turns out, he was stuffing the unexpected windfall into a shopping bag when the responding officers came on the scene.

Believe it or not, the money was returned and the bank has no plans to press charges.
