The National Weather Service is predicting "significant snow" for the Bangor area and much of eastern Maine Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Forecasters are 8-12 inches of snow for the area along with sleet and freezing rain.

A winter storm watch has been issued for Tuesday night into Wednesday night. The watch extends to northern parts of the region.

Forecasters warn the Wednesday morning commute in the Bangor region could be a "rough one."
