Take a trip back in time, to 2018, when some strange goings-on occurred in Downtown Bangor, and Cori went looking for a creepy clown and found instead, something else.

We've all read about the creepy things that can happen around Halloween. Especially the newer craze of Scary Clowns showing up in towns and freaking people out. But I had never encountered one myself...until this week! I had my own personal scary clown sighting in downtown Bangor.

The clown was walking down past the post office when I came out. I'll admit it freaked me out! It was not what I was expecting at all, and was definitely unnerving. I tried to find him afterward, to see if I could snap a pic or two--from a very safe and completely "un-killable" (not a real word!) distance! But he'd disappeared by then.

I did, however, hear tell of his appearance the day before, when he was getting up in the faces of people coming out of Bangor City Hall! I'm not one to condone violence, but I will go on the record as saying that if you try to jump me, I will not be responsible for what happens to you as a result of this bad idea. I've been known to wield an elbow or two. Don't say I didn't warn you!

Then, as I was waiting for my pulse to slow a bit, I circled back around to my house to let the dog out on my way to run more errands, and I noticed debris of some sort in the road as I came around the bend. Upon further inspection, it was the severed head and body of a creepy troll doll. Naturally, I filmed that little find for you all.

Needless to say, I'm good and spooked! This is exactly why I don't do haunted houses or horror movies. I can't handle scary things.

LOOK: How Halloween has changed in the past 100 years

Stacker compiled a list of ways that Halloween has changed over the last 100 years, from how we celebrate it on the day to the costumes we wear trick-or-treating. We’ve included events, inventions, and trends that changed the ways that Halloween was celebrated over time. Many of these traditions were phased out over time. But just like fake blood in a carpet, every bit of Halloween’s history left an impression we can see traces of today.
