Many events over the weekend will make you want to get outside.

Saturday is National Trails Day. The national event is designed to get folks to take a hike in the great our doors. Take in the scenes, wildlife and carry out any trash on the trails!

There are a few events planned for National Trails Day Saturday.

  • Acadia National Park - From 8:30-noon the park is looking for volunteers for some maintenance work on the carriage road. All tools and safety gear will be provided. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes, a hat, sunscreen and bug spray. Also don't forget the water and snacks! Meet up at the Park Headquarters on route 233 in Bar Harbor. If you plan on joining call up Terry at 288-3340.
  • Acadia National Park - A work party is welcomed to clear some overgrown brush along the Adler Trail. All tools and safety gear will be provided. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes, a hat, sunscreen and bug spray. Also don't forget the water and snacks! You'll be meeting up at the trail head. Park at the Blueberry Hill parking lot. If you plan on joining call up Terry at 288-3340.
  • Trenton - Friends of Acadia welcomes you to come check out the new Trenton Community Trail. Meet up behind the Acadia Gateway Center from 8:30-11:30. A light breakfast will be served along with guided tours of the new trail. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes, a hat, sunscreen and bug spray. Also don't forget the water and snacks! If you plan on joining call up Terry at 288-3340.
