Rihanna is no stranger to a barely-there ensemble, but it's not often we see the same approach applied to something like her brows.

Appearing on the September cover of the magazine, the "Wild Thoughts" singer flaunts a pair of daring, pencil-thin eyebrows that totally transform her look. It's possible she actually did shave them off completely (when it comes to Rihanna, you never know), but it's more likely she glued them down and, using concealer, completely covered them, taking a page from drag 101.

Rihanna's makeup artist for the shoot, Isamaya Ffrench, paired the look with lacquered, oxblood lips, fluttery lashes, and a flush of baby pink eyeshadow. She was photographed by Nick Knight and styled by the publication's Editor-in-Chief, Edward Enninful, who put her in a Savage x Fenty bodysuit, Gucci dress and gloves, and an ornate floral headpiece designed by Makoto Azuma.

Even more noteworthy? Rihanna is the first black woman to front the fall fashion issue in the magazine's history.

"I always knew [the September cover] had to be Rihanna," Enninful wrote in his editor letter. "A fearless music-industry icon and businesswoman, when it comes to that potent mix of fashion and celebrity, nobody does it quite like her."
