Here in Maine we eat a lot of kale, more so than bacon.  But, does what you eat tell how you will vote?

Business Week magazine analyzed tweets from across the country that mentioned either kale or bacon, state by state.  They concluded that the results mirror the political preferences of each state.

Researchers say that those that eat more bacon or more likely to be conservative, and those that eat more kale are likely to be more "liberal minded."

In the 2012 election, 17 of the 23 states that prefer kale voted for President Obama, a Democrat, and 11 of the bacon loving states voted for his opponent, Republican Mitt Romney.

The research found that states that were pretty much evenly split between kale and bacon were also split in their votes for President back in 2012.

In the 2012 Presidential election, folks here in Maine gave President Obama at 15.3% edge over his challenger, Mitt Romney.

Guess there are 15.3% more kale lovers here in Maine then there are of those that love bacon.

Although I'm still not going to put kale on my cheeseburger.
