UPDATE: Police have located the cruiser, and Tibbetts has been apprehended.

Police have located the man they say stole a Dexter Police cruiser, according to a state police.

The white Ford Explorer was last seen on the Garland Road headed towards Garland. It has been recovered.

Tyler Tibbetts, 22, is believed to have stolen the vehicle at about 11:30 a.m., according to police. Tibbetts was in handcuffs when he allegedly stole the vehicle.

He was apprehended shortly after 2 p.m. after a high-speed chase that ended in a crash on Route 15 in Corinth. Police now say that Tibbetts was seriously injured in that crash and was pinned inside the vehicle. A LifeFlight helicopter landed near the wreck to take him to EMMC. There's no word on his condition. .
