Parents Television Council Are Mad at Kesha for Drinking Her Own Pee
Kesha drank her own pee on an episode of her MTV documentary series 'My Crazy Beautiful Life,' and while we happen to think it made for some great television, not everyone agreed. The Parents Television Council (PTC) took exceptional exception to the Cannibal Queen's urine ingestion. (For the record, her pee looks a lot like water.)
Apparently the PTC's biggest issue lies not just with the pop star herself, but also with the fact that they're paying for cable tiers that have channels broadcasting things they don't want to see. (The way most of us feel about The Golf Channel, for instance.)
"If given the opportunity, I can't imagine that parents would want to pay for a cable network that airs an episode of a pop star drinking her own urine, and that is why Congress needs to take seriously the idea of giving consumers the ability to choose and pay for only the cable networks they want," PTC president Tim Winter griped in a statement (via The Los Angeles Times).
He added, "Why should we have to pay for this kind of garbage just so we can get access to (other networks bundled with MTV) Discovery, Disney or the Golf Channel?" (The irony isn't lost on us here, folks.) He continued, "It's outrageous -- and it shouldn't be that way. Consumers deserve choice. We should all have the ability to choose and pay for only the channels we want to watch."
Still, Winter and the rest of the PTC don't need to worry too much, because K-Dollar Sign doesn't plan on sipping her No. 1 anymore.
"I heard it was good for you. That was, like, the rumor," she explained. "But I don't know. I'm also just one that doesn't shy away from things. I'm not good at saying 'no' so I just figure, f--- it, I'll try anything once. So I tried it," she said, admitting, "I wouldn't recommend it. It was pretty gross. And I don’t think it really did anything very beneficial to me so, yeah, I wouldn't probably do it again."
