This weekend, pay tribute to the late, great Prince.

The news of Prince's passing yesterday at 57 years old was a complete and total shock to my system. I am a huge Prince fan, so much that I consider him to be my biggest musical hero. I was lucky enough to see him live in concert three fantastic times over the years and now that I know I will never see him again, it makes this weekends tribute band even more meaningful and bittersweet.

Portland based musician Dean Ford and his Prince tribute band "Purple Brainz" will be performing at Season's Downunder Club right here in Bangor, on Saturday night. It starts at 8 and tickets are just $10,

I saw this show last April, with a packed house. Take my word, Dean has got it down. He looks, sings and moves just like "His Royal Badness" They will play all of Prince's biggest hits of the 80's and 90's. It seems like the perfect opportunity to celebrate the life and music of a true genius and icon.

Rest in peace Prince...you will be missed.

Check out a video promoting a gig they played in Portland and don't miss this show.
