Four people were arrested early Monday morning after a pre-dawn drug raid at an apartment in Bangor's Little City neighborhood.

Maine Drug Enforcement Agency agents and the Bangor Police Department's tactical team converged on a Grant Street apartment rented by 26-year-old Bert Overlock just after 4 a.m.

Officers entered and secured the apartment without incident. A search uncovered 18 grams of cocaine base (crack), more than three grams of suspected heroin and more than $5,000 in cash that is believed to be proceeds from the sale of drugs. The recovered drugs have a street value just under $2,500.

During the investigation leading up to the early morning search, MDEA agents had previously purchased cocaine base at the apartment from Alexander Shoureas, 18, of Bangor.

Police say Shoureas was present Monday morning when police arrived, as was Overlock, Gerald Hiland, 39, of Bangor and Jorge Delapaz, 41, of New Haven, Conn.

Delapaz is on probation in Connecticut for a firearms-related conviction. All four suspects were arrested and charged with unlawful trafficking scheduled drugs, a Class B crime.

Shoureas is also charged with a bail violation and his new bail is set at $50,000 cash. Hiland and Overlock's bail was set at $10,000 cash, and the bail for Delapaz was set at $25,000 cash.

This investigation is continuing and more arrests are possible.
