And why won't Bangor?!

Portland has been working to utilize Thompson’s Point. This summer marked the first concerts in the new venue, even though rain screwed up a couple of shows. Now that shows are done for the season, it's time to think of ways to utilize the space for winter actives. Once again Portland has all the fun. They're building an awesome ice skating rink there!

The rink will be covered by the existing roofed structure. It will also feature warming tent,  ice skate rentals, food trucks and A BAR!!!!!!!!!!!! The idea is to have the booze flowing only on Thursday and Friday evenings, Saturdays and maybe Sunday afternoons.

The ice will be maintained by an ice resurfacer. This means no shoveling, open water and sticks and leaves that send you face first into the ice.

The game plan is for the rink to be ready by Thanksgiving and run from 10AM-10PM until  the end of February.
