Thanks Outdoor magazine but it's actually the best city evahhhh!

Portland seems to frequently pop up in various publications. Maine's largest city has been noted for its coffee, farmers markets, beer, environmental friendliness, healthy living and on and on. Now Portland is 'The Best City Ever.'

Outdoor magazine ranked Portland #13 on its list. The list proclaimed these are 'Perfect Places to Move Now.' Portland was just behind #12 Charleston, South Carolina, and somehow ahead of #14 Nashville, Tennessee. The ranking was based on reader voting. Portland received 30,230 votes in its favor.

The magazine cited Portland's mountain-biking and sea kayaking opportunities. Also noted was the city's many different and locally sourced restaurants as well as the First Friday Art Walk and Portland Symphony Orchestra.

Of course our lovely winters where brought up:

'Sure, winters can be long and rough, but locals don’t mind. They congregate for full-moon Nordic skiing at Riverside Golf Course and break out the pond-hockey gear.'

Duluth, Minnesota ranked #1.
