Police have expanded their search for a missing Glenburn girl, enlisting the help of several outside law enforcement agencies including the FBI and the Maine Warden Service.

During a Wednesday afternoon news conference, Kristine Wiley, the visibly distraught mother of 15-year-old Nichole Cable, made an impassioned plea for her daughter to return home.

Nichole was last seen Sunday evening when she told her mother she was meeting a friend in the driveway of the home.

Authorities have since put the teen's name in a national missing persons database and said she "may be with a male who had used a fake name on facebook to lure her in and gain her trust.”

During the news conference, authorities explained that they did not immediately issue an Amber Alert upon Nichole's disappearance because they didn't feel as though the case met the criteria.

The Maine Warden Service is now conducting ground seraches for the missing teen, investigators said Wednesday.

Nichole is a student at Old Town High School.

She was last seen wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, light-colored jeans, and black sneakers. Anyone with any information about Nichole is asked to call the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office at (207) 945-4636 or 911.
