Police have released the identity of a man who was killed in an accident on the Golden Road yesterday.

WABI-TV reports 33-year-old Martin Qualey of Sherman was driving the pickup truck that drove into the back of a parked logging truck on Monday. Officials say Qualey wasn't able to see the rig because there was so much dust being kicked up on the road, making a dusty equivalent to winter's white-out conditions.

A dispatcher with the Piscataquis County Sheriff's Office said the crash happened at mile 36 1/2 on the Golden Road in Township 2 Range 12. Golden Road is a 96-mile private road that was built by the Great Northern Paper Company.
