Lewiston Police have seized a gun after reports of a shooting at the local McDonald's.

According to the Sun Journal, at least five people called police to report they heard shots fired at McDonald's mid-afternoon on Thursday. Police pursued and stopped a silver Saab, with New York plates, and were seen pulling a gun from the floor in the front seat, placing it in an evidence bag. The vehicle's three occupants, a woman and two men, were handcuffed while the vehicle was searched.

An employee who was in a back office with the door locked told the SJ that customers were being kept inside and the doors had been locked.She didn't know whether anyone had been injured.

Police are said to also be looking for a Hispanic man who showed a gun at the business. Officials say it may have been a BB gun. He's described as 5'9": tall, with short brown hair and wearing a white t-shirt. He was last seen walking on Lisbon Street toward Rite Aid.
